palliate

Whiskey tongue,
dancing on tables,
dazed
.
Smoke fading memories,
waking up in strange homes,
numb
.
Sleeping pill tears,
escaping to the moon’s arms,
miserable –
.
All to forget a boy
whose name tastes like poison
.
but darling, they don’t cure.
